EXIF Viewer & Cleaner
Read the camera model, timestamp and GPS a photo carries, then remove the EXIF / XMP metadata byte-by-byte without re-encoding a single byte of image data.

How to use
- Drop a JPEG / PNG / WebP. The left side lists every metadata segment and tag it carries; the right side gives you the cleaned file. The file stays in your browser throughout.
- Cleanup works by removing metadata segments byte-by-byte, not by redrawing the image onto a canvas. The canvas route wipes every tag along with the ICC colour profile, and re-encodes JPEG into a second generation of loss — losing quality to delete a few fields is a bad trade.
- The ICC colour profile is deliberately kept. It is not private information, and removing it shifts the colours on other devices — helping by breaking something else.
- After cleaning, the result is parsed again before you get a download button. Claiming “cleaned” without verifying can hand over a half-product where EXIF is gone but XMP remains — worse than not cleaning, because it gives false confidence.
- GPS resolves to degrees, minutes and seconds; combined with the capture time it can pin a specific building. Sharing it as-is shares where you were standing.
- The EXIF thumbnail (IFD1) is removed along with everything else: some cameras embed a thumbnail of the original, which may be a version you did not mean to share.
- HEIC / AVIF / TIFF are not supported yet: their container structures differ entirely from JPEG and need a separate browser-side parser, while those three are rare on the web.
